| We will show that some tools of the theory of foliations, laminations and decompositions of 3-manifolds are very useful in the study of ergodic properties of partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms.
In this talk we consider one of the obstructions mentioned in the first talk, namely the presence of a 2-torus with hyperbolic dynamics. We plan to show that these objects exist only in some especial families of 3-manifolds. |
