|In this talk, we discuss some practical issues of solving a fourth order singular perturbed PDE that degenerates to Poisson's equation as the perturbation parameter tends to zero. We numerically show that several popular and convergent elements for theÂ biharmonic problem fail to produce accurate solutions of the singular perturbed problem when the perturbation parameter is small. We discuss several simple strategies to circumvent this issue.|
