| Title: | Dynamic traffic networks and user equilibrium in continuous time |
| Seminar: | CCMA Luncheon Seminar |
| Speaker: | Ke Han, Penn State |
| Abstract: |
| Dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) is usually viewed as the positive modeling of
time varying flows on vehicular networks consistent with established traffic flow.
This talk is concerned with a specific type of DTA known as continuous time
dynamic user equilibrium (DUE) for which unit travel cost, including early and
late arrival penalties, is identical for those route and departure time choices
selected by travel agencies. We also propose a network loading procedure based
on the LWR hydrodynamic model and Lax-Hopf formula. The DVI algorithm then
requires repeatedly solving a dynamic network loading problem. These are applied
to some network examples and their solutions presented graphically. |
