| One way to study the long term behaviour of dynamical systems
is to study invariant objects that organize the long term behavior.
There are two classical mathematical results that allow one
to obtain robust landmarks: "normal hyperbolicity" and
"Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser theory".
What we plan to study is what happens when these theories cease to
to apply. We plan to describe some scenarios in which there
are numerical conjectures, some mathematical proofs and
some further conjectures.
There are relations with solid state physics, spectral theory,
numerics. |
