| Title: | Stochastic networks: overview and open problems |
| Seminar: | Seminar on Probability and its Application |
| Speaker: | Guodong Pang, College of Engineering, PSU |
| Abstract: |
| Stochastic networks are used as models for systems with complex and dynamic interactions under uncertainty. They have applications in telecommunications, computer systems, manufacturing and service systems. In this talk, I will give an overview of some topics on stochastic networks, from the classical product-form theory to the heavy-traffic limits (FLLN and FCLT) of some performance measures. I will also discuss some open research problems associated with the further development of asymptotic approximations for general stochastic networks. |
