| Many systems of partial differential equations
from mathematical physics or differential geometry are
of mixed type of hyperbolic and elliptic or parabolic.
In particular, aerodynamics is one of the most fascinating
among them. We will present in this talk a core situation
of the mixed type from aerodynamics in two-space dimensions
and explain our treatment of the initial-boundary value
conditions for generating smooth patches of solutions. |
