| Title: | Global Knapp-Stein intertwiners |
| Seminar: | Noncommutative Geometry Seminar |
| Speaker: | Pierre Clare, Penn State |
| Abstract: |
| Many questions in representation theory involve the study of certain intertwining operators, introduced by Knapp and Stein in the seventies. In particular, they appear as a fundamental tool in understanding the intricate topological phenomena occurring in the tempered dual. From the point of view of Noncommutative Geometry, it suggests that an analogous object defined at the level of reduced C*-algebras would help analyse them. This talk intends to present some attempts in this direction, by defining intertwining integrals in the Hilbert module framework and normalised intertwiners in some special cases. |
