| Title: | Primes in arithmetic progressions to sparse moduli I |
| Seminar: | Algebra and Number Theory Seminar |
| Speaker: | Roger Baker, Brigham Young University |
| Abstract: |
| One of the most important tools of analytic number theory is the
Bombieri-Vinogradov theorem which predicts the number of primes up to x in an arithmetic progression of modulus q, for q up to x^c, c<1/2, apart from a relatively small set of exceptions q. But the theorem says nothing about the exceptions q that are, say, squares. We see what can be done about this, in two connected talks. |
