Subject to funding, positions may be available at the ranks of Instructor, Senior Instructor, Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, depending on qualifications, beginning August 2013. Appointments may be made for one or three-year terms, or to standing positions. Interest and documented expertise in teaching precalculus and calculus are essential.  Candidates must be ready to contribute to the development of new or existing courses. A Ph.D. in mathematics is preferred; a master`s degree is required. We encourage applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds. Instructor/Mathematics Retention and Intervention Coordinator

The Eberly College of Science Department of Mathematics is seeking a qualified instructor to coordinate retention activities within several of the department’s online Mathematics courses which are offered through the Penn State World Campus. This person will work within the Department of Mathematics to identify and implement retention strategies for identified courses. This position will utilize data analytics to identify student problem areas within courses, provide students with additional feedback and direction to resources for assistance, and track student outcomes. In-course tutoring and online group study sessions may also be required. A master’s degree in mathematics or related field is required. Teaching experience is preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding.
